First Walk

Baby Isla has now had her first taste of of the wild outdoors. We went for a short walk down the lane. It was a bit windy and cold, but she seemed to enjoy it all the same. And before I get any emails, yes that is a camo fleece suit she has on. Did you not know that camo is the only true neutral?

Let Sleeping Babies Lie!

Isla is getting used to being at home, and is enjoying her new beanbag. The Dummy (binky) is helping her to cough up the remaining mucus in her system. She seems to have quite a lot of this.

The Trip Home

After a night with little sleep both Mother and baby were ready to come home. So at 10am on the 28th of February 2008 baby Isla made her second car journey and her first visit home. Once again she slept all the way home.

Her hat was a little large and kept slipping down, but maybe that is the secret of easy travelling!

The First Visitors

That afternoon Grandma Troup came to visit her first Grandchild. Uncle Michael (AKA Uncle Basil) and Auntie (even if only unofficially so far!)Claire also came to see the new arrival.

The First Trip Outside

Because both Mom and Isla were doing well, they were allowed to be transferred later that day to Perth Infirmary. This is a much smaller unit then the big teching hospital she was born in and is much closer to home too. Isla enjoyed her first car journey and slept through the entire trip.

Life is very tiring being a little baby and Isla has been sleeping well while we were on the ward.

She enjoys being tickled by Mommy and sleeping on Daddies tummy!

The First Bath

After a long night on the labour ward mother and baby were moved to the post-natal ward and Dad got to help give babies first bath. She liked this a lot, although she was not as keen on getting out again!

The Arrival

After a long labour, and a forceps delivery, baby Isla Anne Troup came into the world at 12.06 am on the 27th of February 2008. She weighed 9lbs and 1oz and measured 20" long. Both mother and baby are tired but doing well.
