More Easter Fun

Grannie knitted these for the Easter table. They had big chocolate eggs inside. We've entered them to win a Hobby craft competition.
Isla made a snow drop chain for Cassie (she improvised as there are no daisies this time of year).
Our special kid....she loves those goggles (courtesy of the lost and found at Gleneagles pool), a baby binkie (she found when we were cleaning), and she's covered in mascara she put on herself....(this was pre hair cut).
Ah, the harrassment Cassie takes. This was during the grand tidying effort in the mudroom.  The yellow "leash" is actually the "run away strap" to the stroller.
It seemed to snow every day for the past two weeks...but regardless, the dogs need walked at 6am. (yes, the light of summer is upon us. We started "British summer time" today though,  so our nights will be getting longer.)
The girls' "craft". They decorated this box from daddy's work and want to enter it in the contest as well.
Another family dog walk, and carrying of large sticks.

The word is out that I have a sewing machine...the mothers at Rainbows were thrilled (Isla was invited to join the youngest group of the Girl Guides the Wednesday before Easter Holidays---our other friends in town loathe sewing badges on, and I'm the only one with a sewing machine), and I'm now getting "requests" from daddy's work. This was a pair of curtains I had to shape from an extra hide cover.
The snowdrop chain...she made it all by herself and was very proud of it (and it's her entry to the craft competition).
After our family walk, we hung out on the lawn while mum stripped Charlie, and then we had Easter cupcakes. Hoorah for no snow today!

A gorgeous morning

Still really, really cold but the sun is out and the snow has stopped, thankfully.

Afternoon walks

Yesterday we went for a walk with Isla's friend Willow. Charlie, again, decided she is the great water fowler and took off in the pond after Canadian geese and swans....she can swim, even if she is a bit daft.

The whole playgroup

The Easter bonnet picture. One spot where mum's lack of Scottish Easter tradition stands out. I thought a hat would be something you'd wear to church....not the circus!

Easter bonnets

Ailsa and her buddy Adam in their bonnets

Easter frocks

Just in time for the playgroup Easter party.

Wednesday

Snow the past two weeks has been incredibly localised. We left bright blue skies in Stirling to find a white out at the house.

Sightings

Earlier in the week the Easter bunny was reportedly seen in Sainsbury's

The site

I braved the private road to the house site today. Any illusion I had of getting rid of my Volvo are gone! Thankfully I have snow tyres and winter mode. We'll be buying a plow.

Springtime in Scotland

Our last art class

Grass haired spring cups this week at Creation Station. The girls got certificates and everything!

Pies

The kids are officially Scottish.....macaroni pies for lunch.

AHHHHHH!!!!

At the current rate, Ailsa will be a Telly Savalas look-a-like by the weekend. Isla got out my embroidery scissors (to cut some stick on fingernail colour she found), and while I was washing the dishes, Ailsa chopped off the right side of her bob.....I may just chop her hands off at this rate if I want her to have any hair by the weekend.

Their best funny faces

Nevermind the ketchup stained shirt....daddy's away so it's a tea of champions, hot dogs/pasta & sweetcorn.

All done!

No more bunches for Ailsa, but she declared she looks 'fantastic' and is happy with her new look, so that's good enough for me. The barber is certainly the way to go with kids....no mucking about!!

Ta da!

All trimmed up at the barbers!

Barbers

A little girl at our art class has a really cute haircut. When I asked her mum where she got it done, she told me her husband is a barber in Perth. After yesterday's pinking shears incident, I decided to get Ailsa's hair done properly. I was debating whether to get Fergus's done as well. When I took off his hat at the barbers, it looked like this...which I took as a sign, so he got his done too. If I hadn't been holding him I would have taken a picture. His faces were priceless...sort of bewilderment crossed with embarrassment and a tad if flirting with the lady cutting his hair. She was great! Quick, gentle, but no talking if the kids were quiet and settled.

Payback

Yes Grandma Maughan, one of my children got ahold of scissors (pinking shears in fact) and gave herself a haircut....i guess what goes around, comes around...

Snowy March days

Snow

The snow on my walk this morning had drifted so high it was hard to open the gate at the top of the hill

A machine

Aunty Isy gave isla a cake pop machine for her birthday

Friday

Again this Friday we went off for an adventure...last week it was the craft fair in Glasgow, today it was errands jn Stirling. Isla and Fergus got new shoes (isla's light up when you walk), we did her passport pictures, helped daddy pick up his truck, went to the chemist for qtips (they are awful here but we needed enough until mom can bring some back from the states!), vacuumed and washed the car and met up with Anne for lunch. Fergus lived the attention and two handed eating....poor Anne had to go back to work covered in pizza sauce and nutella.

Family trips

We've taken Charlie and Cassie on a few fun walks lately. Ailsa insists Charlie sits by her.
