Road Trips with Daddy

Some girls have too much energy to stay home after dinner, and are instead sent off with dad for his work runs to the other shops. It can be exhausting when you are 3.

Christmas Eve Traditions

We found Gingerbread house kits at Costco this year to do on Christmas eve. The kids decided themselves to wear their pj's to Grannie's.

The kids loved Christmas morning, complete with a tv log fire :)

The look of concentration in removing plastic tags out of Barbie's hair...

Auntie Claire made the kids Christmas pinatas. They loved trying to open them!

No holiday would be complete without some sort of major machinery playing...

Success!

Happy Boy

Someone got lots of tractors and tractor books for Christmas. He rode in dad's truck today to the house site and was so proud of his book, he "read" it all the way.

Motivation

Isla and ailsa stayed up till 9pm writing Christmas cards for school friends. She didn't realise you should write your name inside the card....but had the most wonderful time copying her friends names. There is a school 'mail delivery' service and even though she is p1, she definitely feels like part of the school. So cute to watch. Ailsa 'wrote' out ones too to her friends.

The pictures you find when you clean out your Drafts folder!

Another family adventure

Today we went through to the "Santa Train" in Bo'ness. It started with some mince pies...
And a VERY loud steam engine
Free Antlers!!

A gift from Santa (and Group leading singing--complete with accordian!)

Then we got home to see the wood the mobile saw unit had cut yesterday. It's not got to air dry for 6 months, then kiln dried for Ali to make our dining room table and benches out of it (and mantle).
The heartwood grain is gorgeous!

Pictures from May

(Just found these and given the level of grayness here, I thought I'd post them to help us remember what green and the garden looks like!)

What could it be??

A book perhaps?? No book will ever live up to "Grumpy Badger's Christmas!"

If you leave a 3 year old alone in the loo with a Costco pack of loo roll....

The pure look of pride on her face (ar her creativity) is priceless!

Ooohh gifts!

He got a little nervous when his name still wasn't called...luckily, Adam (next to us) was also one of the last.

Magic

Our friend Ruth sent the kids £5 each for Christmas and they were allowed to choose a gift. Ailsa bought a baby and Fergus a tractor. It was a VERY exciting experience. Isla was thrilled (and in our ride to Stirling she got bored and started sniffing the money...seems at school they had someone from the kennel club come teach them about dog safety...in addition to teaching them lots of useful stuff--like never tease a dog, or go near one when it is eating--they were taught that everyone has a scent and the way to let us dog get to know you is to let it sniff you....she proudly then announced that Ruth (a retired accountant) smells like cash.....HILARIOUS!! I can't wait for her to get home from her cruise so I can tell her. (isla chose a tiara)
