Good Friday
The whole gang was up by 6:20am, despite there being no school, and out playing in the back of the Landie by 7. We washed the front windows in the house (you could see all the streaks as the sun was streaming thru them), and made it to the pool by 9. They fought over who gets the back seats and spent the day doing Easter crafts while mum did worksheets for teaching.

A change of heart
For children who used to scream and refuse to go to bed if there was a fly around, they are now devastated if they can't find a fly. The Venus flytrap was so popular we had to get everyone one at the plant store today and then hunt down dead flies in the house to feed to them.
Yes, they adopted my tweezers to feed the flies to the plant. Classy.

Finally!
After more stress (car dealership said our payment card was declined & for 30 minutes I was on the phone with the bank or waiting to trying to sort it out--when finally we ran a different card for a small parts purchase which was also declined and the salesman suggested we move closer to the wifi connection in the building which 'magically' fixed the issue with the bank. Grrrr..buy freakin' new batteries for your card reader!)
But anyway, after 2 hours we now own this beaut....it was a pleasure to pull off our one lane road to let people in little peugeots (or neighbours in huge animal transporters) go buy on our way home from school and it powered up the gravel hill. It's even easier to fit in the garage as it's actually smaller than the Volvo!
One of those odd moments in life when you realise what you are driving, with your 4 year old in the front (there's no airbags), singing along to the Proclaimers, in the rain, thousands of miles from where you ever pictured yourself living.
We had to do a drive by of their friends walking home from school to show it off.

Call him Martha Stewart
Check out the craft daddy organised today...stringing peanuts onto string to hang off the trees for the birds. (Mum has been working on a course assignment and lessons plans)
It was a hit.
Saturday's in spring
Mum was up early to catch a train to Galasgow for a work conference and Super Daddy had the kids for the day.
She arrived early for the conference so squeezed in a quick trip to the shopping district, past the Museum of Modern Art.
By the time she got home it was a lovely day and it appears that in addition to doing farm chores and running errands, the kids spent a lot of time practicing their bike stunt skills which they were eager to show off.
That was ended by a few collisions with the dogs, but it was tea time anyway and dad made everyone day by using his grill to make s'mores.

Fridays
Another week gone. More sick kids (it's been weeks since we made it to the pool), sport relief mile in pjs at school, owl poster and Titanic projects done, we made it to Rainbows/Brownies and survived work another semi. Still no new car as we are waiting on insurance money though.
A good night for introducing the kids to the Anne of Green Gables movies.

Sunny Sundays
Who doesn't love a Sunny Sunday?? Up by 6am to get my online class assignment done by 10, daddy made banana chocolate chip muffins for breakfast and put his rocking Chair from Christmas out on the porch to enjoy the sunshine and supervise the children and their trampoline antics, chalk drawing and laps of the house on the bikes and scooters. I did a 5 mile walk with the dogs and enjoyed some peaceful family time. A rarity lately!
The ever popular messenger bag with padded strap made to fit a 5 year old, pocket for hearing aids, slip to keep the water bottle upright and a matching snack bag. All Primary 1 friendly with Velcro--no usable buttons or zips. And serendipitously today I got another yard of fabric from the company i'd bought it from as they had sent me the wrong fabric. Now Isla wants one too and it seems a certain entrepreneurial 5 year old has been taking orders at school.

Monday mornings
5am Mondays mean getting everything ready--lunch, snack bags, PE kit, school bags, tennis clothes & trainers, and jackets.
Then out to Walk the dogs before heading to work. The sun is coming up before 7 these days. We're loving the light mornings!
Our newest family member
Not very refined or glamorous but oh so sturdy and capable, here is our new car.
We should get it this week.
All dependent on the insurance money coming thru...I'm thinking it will be next week not this week.
Sunday Mornings
Some people love their Sunday mornings for iPad time & chocolate milk..
Some enjoy it for the lack of fighting and rushing about.

Our very own Amaryllis
The big present arrived today and she wouldn't even change her clothes from school before trying it out. It is a lovely instrument!
And someone thinks Charlie is his piano.
